The polyphenols (antioxidants) and tocopherols (vitamin E) contained in the TERRE DI SAN MAURO extra virgin olive oil are an excellent protector of our health due to their antioxidant and vitamin action. Terre di San Mauro is obtained from typical Calabrian olives: Carolea, Ottobratica, Sinopolese, and Roggianella. The nutritional and health properties of this oil, obtained from the 5,000 olive trees of the picturesque Contrada San Mauro, at 550 meters above sea level, are further enhanced by the organic management of the cultivation. This contributes beneficial effects to the entire surrounding landscape, which is of evocative charm.
Sensory Profile
On olfactory examination, it displays a medium-light fruity aroma with unmistakable herbaceous scents dominating over those of green apple, green tomato, mint, and basil, although these too are pronounced. The taste is complex, refined, and persistent. Excellent on everything but wonderful on tuna and meat tartare, as well as on legume creams.
